Chromatic Studio (also known as Rain Studio) is a 2,200 sq. ft. industrial loft space in West Town, featuring large south-facing windows that overlook the United Center. Whether it’s music video productions, photoshoots, or live events, Chromatic Studio is a versatile space capable of hosting your next creative endeavor.

Know

  • The studio is located in West Town, Chicago. West Town is a large, vibrant Chicago neighborhood northwest of downtown known for its artsy, eclectic vibe, diverse restaurants, boutiques, and live music venues. Like are building, there are many others in the area with bustling businesses behind the scene.

  • A membership rate is $550 a month. Upon becoming a member, you are required to pay first and last month’s rent.

    There is a membership with a rate of $350. You get 10 studio hours/month and your able to use the c-stands and clips.

    A contract agreement will be signed upon approval.

    • We do encourage you to create in the space. we don’t have a booking limit for members but we do ask that you be considerate of your studiomates.

    • For small production rentals, you all able to manage and rent out the space. Talk to Trey to learn more about this.

    • Do not leave the studio a mess. Be considerate of your studiomates and leave the space how you found it.

    • Trey will handle any big productions unless you are trained and trusted to do so.

    • Please let people know if you want to use their equipment.

    • No smoking in the space.

    • Don’t leave the space unattended with with client unless it’s an absolute must.

  • We all share the space together. get to know your studiomates. There is a lot you can learn from each other.

    We use a google calendar to schedule are shoots. work with you’re mates during any scheduling conflicts. Paid gigs are always prioritized.

    Lastly, we encourage collaboration. Work on a client together. Practice a new technique. learn and grow from each other.

  • Arriving/Parking

    You can park anywhere along Carroll and Hoyne. Parking is generally free for three blocks down in any direction. Though free, it is hard to find a spot during the weekdays, 9 am-5 pm.   

  • Entering the Building

    On the corner of Hoyne and Carroll is a big red door with “325” on it. Walk up to the door and you can use your issued fob to get into the building. If you do not have a fob, you will see a digital dial pad and hit “3L Media” to get buzzed up.

  • The Hard Part: The Stairs

    Once you enter, you will walk to the third floor. The world’s greatest athletes would struggle on these stairs, so don't feel bad. 

  • After the Stairs

    Once you reach the third floor, you will make a left. Continue to walk down that path. You will eventually make it to the studio door. You will be issued a key to enter.

    The Unit number is C-313.

  • Bathroom

    Walk out of the studio’s doors and make a right. Head towards the first exit sign you see.

    Make another right and you will see the two bathroom doors. The door knobs do not turn but you call pull to open.

  • In Studio

    Wifi. AC. Workstation. Speaker. Mini-fridge. Everything you would need. make sure you leave the studio how you found it (or better if you’re feeling nice). When leaving, all things should be powered off.

    Please lock the top and bottom lock when you leave.

  • Freight Elevator

    The loading dock is located near 2021 W Carroll Ave. You can use your key fob to move the freight elevators. If it is not on your floor, you will need to go to the floor that it is on to grab it. You may not park your car at the loading dock.

  • Studio Needed

    I’m just a chill guy. I will do my best to help with things regarding the studio.

Where is Equipment stored?

Equipment is stored in “the cube.” It is a shared space with general studio equipment and studio members equipment. Space will be made for your equipment when you join. You will also have some space to store items under the stairs.
